If anyone watches this, please don’t get skinny eyebrows if they come back in style. We did this shit in the 90s and now people like me have to spend $$$ to get micro blading just to have eyebrows again.

My advice is to look around.Trend or not trend do what you really feel and don't do it for others
We are different, the trends you maybe in the future you will regret maybe I will be happy to have followed them . Just follow yourself.

The brows combed straight up reminds me of what happened when Brooke Shields’ eyebrows got popular in the 1980s. Everyone was trying to have brows like hers, and that was one of the techniques.

You are probably right about the next brow thing being skinny brows because my mom said that before the late 90s – early 2000s super skinny brows the rage was the "Brooke Sheilds" brows – very natural & fluffy.

This was completely awesome. And you are so right! As one of your viewers who was in her early twenties in the 80s, there are so many trends that people think are new. Fashion, just like makeup is cyclical. Even perms and shag hairstyles are cool again. Blue and green eye shadows were the rage for a while. Liner on the top, think Supremes. All around liquid liner died because it made the eye look smaller. Eyebrows have been every possible way and next thing you know is we'll be shaving them off 😉 One of your best videos ever!!!

    The feathered brow is DISGUSTING

its crazy how fuax freckles are a trend when like you said our natural features are so much more beautiful

    Posted July 21, 2021 5:25 am

I don’t care if you have the best freckle pen/product on the market, and the hand of an artist. When you attempt fake freckles, you appear to have dirt or sand on your face. You just can’t replicate a freckle. Stop it.

I’ve thought the same about the thin brow, with the 1920s revival and Y2K revival it’s bond to eventually

I am 30 years old and have finally found my perfect brow. Not tweezed, barely trimmed, light filling in only certain spot, keeping my natural shape, and then brow gel. I will never ever go back to super ‘done’ brows🙌🏻

I was a teenager in the mid 80s. Imagine how much I laughed when someone said they were applying blush like they did in the 80s by applying it higher and taking it up to the temples. Actually, it should also go up to your forehead too and it's called the arc method (see Wayne Goss on applying blush) and I' don't wear blush on the apples of my cheeks because it doesn't look right. But 2 things, there wasn't one way to do makeup in the 80s and the same effect is achieved with all the contour and bronzer that gets used now.

How about the opposite hair trend, where we put our hair in a pony tail and then curled our bangs to look like sausages?…. No? Just me then? Lol!!!

  • Prsten11

    Posted July 21, 2021 5:25 am

omgg i think thinner brows will be the new thing soon too!!

I've always had full brows (never plucked then when that ugly trend was going on). I always wore my blush high as a highlighter because it makes my eyes pop and I always wore blush on the nose. Also I always did that inner corner eyeliner because my eyes are droopy. I believe cat eyes will forever be in trend. It flatters any face shape and it makes you look younger, fresher and it's also the most mysterious/seductive one.

    The big fat brow

  • Priscila B.

    Posted July 21, 2021 5:25 am

I think the ‘napolitan ice cream’ look on the cheeks (dark bronzer, pink blush, bright highlighter) will be inconprehensible to our future selfs lol

I really don't like the brow hairs that stand straight up.. I went from Instagram brows to a more natural brow and I look sooo much better!
I have stopped following any trends and just do what works best for my face

  • Jess Anderson

    Posted July 21, 2021 5:25 am

Allllll about that blush. Sometimes, I wear it on the apples of my cheeks, and on the bridge of my nose (like a sunburn) and other times, I wear it high on my cheekbones and blend it into my eye shadow… I can’t imagine giving up my blush lewks any time soon. 😉

Tbh, the only person who pulls off the blushy nose really well is Betty-Jean.

Everyone over lining their lips! It’s like eyebrows—it would be so great to recognize that lots of lip shapes and sizes are beautiful and suit different faces. Also highlight on the tip of the nose looks so dated-as-it’s-happening to me!

    Posted July 21, 2021 5:25 am

I absolutely love the heavy blush! I’ve always been someone that has been a little more heavy handed because my complexion makes it hard for me to “naturally” blush. Personally for me, blushing my nose is similar to contouring to make it look a little smaller

Foundation that is dewy to the point it looks greasy. I think we will look back to it the same way we're now looking at matte skin that is so powdered it looks like sandpaper. Neither of these finishes look flattering imo.

In russia it's called the alcoholic's nose lmao. love to see it trending as a fashion statement, too funny

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the highlighting trends. The upper lip highlight and the tip of the nose highlight, I don’t understand. They don’t look good in photos and they look worse in person

Your makeup looks Beautiful! Oh yes the brows…i was a fan of the super thin brow but found that too it ages me a bit. I had to find a happy medium with that…lol

What nail polish are you wearing?! I’m obsessed! 😍

Yep. As a woman that's been wearing full makeup for 40 years now, I can tell you that there are some regrets on my part, but most of the techniques I used in the 80s & 90s are still solid; and the makeup itself is sooo much better.

I think we eventually all regret some trends we participated in. My high school hair in the 80s, yikes! I think people should do what looks good on them knowing there may be some cringing later on in life.

I don't think inner corner eyeliner is a 'trend'. It's very Middle Eastern style of eyeliner that's been around for a long time

As someone who was in high school in the 80s, some of the colorful pastels and frosty eye and lip colors make me cringe! And we all over-plucked our brows in the 90s so all of you young people be warned- you will regret it when they don't grow back in!!! The ombre lips also remind me of the early 90s- dark liner, nude lipstick. It is really fun seeing the trends come back around. One thing I cannot understand is blush on the nose!!!
I think the overly contoured face will be gone soon, in favor of much lighter complexion products… we shall see!!!
